Four released following arrest over gun and heroin seizure

Four people arrested in connection with the seizure of a handgun, ammunition and heroin have been released without charge.

Two men, both aged 23, and two woman, aged 20 and 27, were arrested and questioned at Kevin St and Kilmainham Garda stations following the seizure by gardaí on Saturday night.

The four people were released on Sunday afternoon and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The arrests were made after two houses on Eugene Street, Dublin 8 were searched. Heroin with an estimated street value of €3,000 was also seized.

The searches were part of an ongoing Garda investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Kevin St area of Dublin.
