Gardaí are confident they have broken up a prolific burglary gang, which was operating in the south east of the county.
On Wednesday morning, gardaí from counties Tipperary and Carlow carried out several searches in the Dublin area in connection with an ongoing operation against rural burglaries.
They were supported by officers from the Armed Support Unit.
Searches were carried out in the Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Pearse Street areas and four men were arrested for theft and burglary offences.
The men were taken to four different garda stations in Roscrea, Thurles, Nenagh and Carlow for questioning where they could be held for up to 24 hours before being charged or released.
Three of the men are expected to appear before Naas District Court at 10.30pm to be charged with the offence.
Gardaí recovered a large amount of stolen property during the searches including a trailer, power tools “and other assorted items”, a spokesman said.
