Five men arrested after Garda pursuit in Co Kildare

Three taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries

Three men were taken to hospital following a garda pursuit in Co Kildare on Tuesday evening.

Gardai said they intercepted a vehicle in Co Meath in connection with ongoing investigations into criminal activity in the Leinster region.

“This vehicle failed to stop for gardaí and a managed containment operation ensued,” they said in a statement on Tuesday night.

“This operation concluded shortly before 8pm when the offending vehicle was involved in a single vehicle road traffic collision on the Newbridge Road in Naas, Co Kildare.”

Five men were arrested at the scene. Three, aged in their late teens, 20s and 40s, were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Two others, aged in their 20s, were detained at Naas Garda station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
