Gardaí have seized a firearm and component parts following the search of a 33 year old man in the Finglas area at approximately 12.15 this morning.
The seizure is part of an ongoing operation targeting criminal activity in the Dublin West area.
The man has been arrested and is currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939-98.
