Revenue has seized 15kg of cannabis to the street value of €300,000 following a routine profiling at An Post's mail centre in Portlaoise.

The drugs were discovered by Revenue's Customs Service's sniffer dog, Stella, who gave a positive reaction to the parcel labelled 'food and spices'.

The parcel was destined for a north Dublin address and consigned from West Africa, Revenue said.
