Criminal Assets Bureau sells Rolex on eBay for €8,200

A Rolex watch put up for sale by the Criminal Assets Bureau has sold for €8,200 on eBay.

The two-tone Rolex Daytona oyster perpetual watch on an oyster bracelet with grey dial was seized by CAB officers two years ago.

It was recently appraised and cleaned by Dawson Jewellers in Dublin who confirmed it was real. It was one of three Rolex watches seized in raids in Saggart and south Dublin along with a BMW worth €50,000.

CAB regularly puts items up for sale on ebay through its seller name proceedsofcrimeact1996.

The watch, which was valued at €7,000, attracted 15 bids and was eventually sold this afternoon.
