Man charged with firearm offence released on bail

A man charged with possession of a firearm has been released on bail at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin.

Eamon McNamee (34), with an address at Larkfield Square, Lucan, Co Dublin is charged with possession of a firearm with the intent to commit an indictable offence, namely assault causing harm, at Fairgreen, Saggart, Co Dublin on January 19th, 2013.

Mr McNamee’s bail application was granted by the three-judge court. He was released on his own bond of €1,000 and an independent surety of €20,000.

His bail conditions are that he will surrender his passport, not travel outside Ireland or to Northern Ireland, that he will sign on daily at Lucan garda station between 9am and 9pm, observe a curfew between 12am and 7am, not associate with anyone convicted or charged with a scheduled offence, be on good behaviour and provide a mobile phone number to gardaí.
