Non-jury trial for man accused of murdering Gareth Hutch

Jonathan Keogh (31) is third person charged over killing of Gerry Hutch’s nephew last year

A man who was extradited from the UK to be charged with the murder of Gareth Hutch last year is to face a non-jury trial in the Special Criminal Court.

Jonathan Keogh (31), from north inner city Dublin, was remanded in custody on August 24th last. He was the third person to be charged in relation to the murder of Mr Hutch along with his sister Regina Keogh and Thomas Fox.

Mr Hutch (35), a nephew of Gerry “the Monk” Hutch, was shot while getting into his car at Avondale House, North Cumberland Street, Dublin 1 on May 24th, 2016. His death came during a series of killings in a feud between the Hutch and Kinahan gangs.

Mr Keogh was served with a book of evidence when he appeared on Monday at Cloverhill District Court, which heard that the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed his case be heard in the Special Criminal Court.
