Two masked men got away with small amount of cash

Gardaí are seeking two men following an armed robbery of a cash-in-transit van earlier today.

The robbery took place at about 3pm at a retail park on the M1 near Drogheda.

According to gardaí, a security worker in the van was carrying a case of cash from one of the retail outlets when he was approached by two armed and masked men demanding the money.

It is unclear what weapons they were armed with and gardaí say they only escaped with a small amount of cash.

They made their getaway in a blue Volvo S50 in the direction of the M50-M1 roundabout. Nobody was hurt during the incident.

Gardaí are examining CCTV footage to establish the movements of the men and have appealed for any witnesses at the time of the robbery to make contact.
