A 12-year-old boy was injured early today after a brick was thrown through his bedroom window in Co Antrim, police in the North have said.

The boy was hit in the face as he slept in bed during in the Kilmakevit Square area of Cullybackey shortly before 1.30am.

As a result he has swelling above his eye and is “badly shaken by his ordeal”, the PSNI said.

The boy’s mother was in the house at the time but was not injured. However other windows in the house were smashed during the incident.

Police have not established a motive for the attack. They are appealing for anyone with information to contact them at Ballymena police station.
