A man suffers serious head injuries in Galway assault

A 27-year-old man suffered serious head injuries from an assault in Galway this morning.

Gardaí are investigating the serious assault that took place on High Street, Tuam at about 2.30am today.

The victim was taken to University College Hospital in Galway and then transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

His condition has been described as serious.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area between 2am-3am to contact Tuam Garda station at 093 (70840)
