Geneva - A Swiss former Red Cross worker shot his wife because she insisted on watching French President Jacques Chirac make a speech on television, the Swiss daily Le Matin reported yesterday.
The 60-year-old man, who appeared in court in Geneva on Monday, said his wife, whom he described as domineering and authoritarian, wanted to watch a Chirac speech on March 10th, 1997. He wanted to see another programme, but his wife, who was 73 and partially paralysed, managed to get her own way once again.
