Fingal councillors are expected to vote on the Donabate Local Area Plan (LAP) when they reconvene at tomorrow's council meeting.
Donabate residents had in recent weeks expressed concern that the village would not have the infrastructure to cope with development proposed in the area plan. The council's planning department received 516 submissions on the plan.
At last week's meeting, director of planning David O'Connor outlined some of the changes that had been made to take account of residents' concerns. These include an extension of the plan's phasing from 10 to 13 years, a freeze on residential occupation until infrastructure is in place, and the development of open space in the Corballis and Ballymastone areas prior to the development of the area plan.
County manager John Tierney said he felt the council had "responded not only to issues raised by councillors, but by residents too".
"In this LAP there has been a comprehensive attempt to align facilities with the roll-out of development. What we've tried to do here is a reasonable attempt to meet people's concerns."
