The problem of illegal camping in Galway city centre during the peak summer season is to be raised at a behind closed doors meeting of the City Council next Monday.

Mr Joe Gavin, the City Manager, said he would investigate the possibility of hiring a private security firm to keep the campers off the seafront at South Park in the interim.
