Although Sunday’s meeting was given the go-ahead, another night of heavy rain left the situation untenable.

Cliff Noone, Irish Turf Club press officer, confirmed: “They’ve had a lot more rain overnight so there was no way they could race.”

Wednesday’s meeting at Clonmel is also in doubt, with an inspection scheduled for 8.30am tomorrow.
