Racing: Cork's two-day Bank Holiday race meeting scheduled for Sunday and Monday has been abandoned due to waterlogging.

The nearby River Blackwater burst its banks, leaving parts of the track unraceable.

"Both days have gone I'm afraid. It's unfit for racing due to waterlogging, the river has burst its banks," said Cliff Noone at the Irish Turf Club.

"What they are going to do is reschedule Monday's meeting for next Friday. They will need to apply for an extra fixture to replace Sunday's card."
