Contraband cigarettes seized

Contraband cigarettes hidden in a consignment of frozen apples were seized in Rosslare, Co Wexford, yesterday. The cigarettes, worth an estimated £81,000, were found in a false compartment under a lorry which had arrived from France. The driver, from Northern Ireland, was released after questioning. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
