Frozen out:English councillors have introduced a strict code of conduct on ice cream vendors.
New rules adopted by Worcester City Council ban vendors from sounding their chimes for longer than four seconds at a time or more than once every three minutes. Traders are also prohibited from sounding chimes within 50 metres of a place of worship or outside schools during school hours. Turning on the tinkly tune before noon and after 7pm is also out of the question.
