60 years of charity: It's 60 years since the first Oxfam charity shop was opened in the UK.

Oxfam now has programmes in more than 70 countries, but the charity started life on a much smaller scale, as the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, in 1942. Groups of people in towns throughout the UK collected parcels of food and clothes to send to families affected by the second World War.
