The Government’s planned constitutional convention is expected to be challenged at this year’s Douglas Hyde Conference, which takes place on Friday, October 26th, at Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon, a statement for the conference has said.

Speakers from various points of view will include Donncha O’Connell and Tom Hickey of NUI Galway; Eoin Daly and Judy Walsh of UCD; Dr Niamh Puirséil; Eoin Ó Broin of Sinn Féin, Labour Senator Ivana Bacik and Maura Adshead of the University of Limerick.

The conference is hosted by Roscommon County Council, supported by the Western Development Commission.
