Conference on waste disposal

The second national waste-management conference, organised by Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, will be held at the Nuremore hotel, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, on October 3rd and 4th. Mr Eddie McMullin, chairman of Dundalk Chamber Environment Committee, said yesterday that on last available figures, waste-production had increased by an average 7.2 per cent per annum. There will be a strong emphasis this year on practical methods of treatment for waste water, solids and discharges into the atmosphere.
