Conduit Europe, an information service provider based in Dublin, today reported a pretax profit of €5.77 million in the first half from a loss of €11.20 million the previous year, aided by a steep increase in call volumes and revenue.
The group said call volumes for the half year rose 30 per cent to €80 million from €60.4 million, with revenues up 33 per cent to €31.9 million from €23.9 million.
EBITDA was €6.6 million for the half year compared to an EBITDA loss of €5.0 million last year, while gross margin more than doubled from 24 per cent for the first six months last year to 49 per cent for the half year to September 2002.
The company said it expects a significant increase in marketing expenditure to coincide with the ramp up of the launch of its own number in the second half of the current financial year.
