Concorde test flight lands in New York

A British Airways Concorde landed at New York's John F

A British Airways Concorde landed at New York's John F. Kennedy airport today in its first transatlantic flight since it was grounded last year.

The flight was a dress rehearsal for a planned resumption of passenger services next month.

The supersonic aircraft landed at 9.40 am local time, 15 minutes behind schedule in its three-and-a-half hour journey from London Heathrow airport, carrying 92 engineers who had worked to restore it to flight status.

Concorde aircraft have been grounded since one crashed near Paris last year, killing 113 people.
