London - Britain is crawling with rats because decades of neglect have left its sewers crumbling to the point of collapse, according to a pressure group.
Campaigners for the Renewal of Older Sewerage Systems (CROSS) said in a statement yesterday that a survey of local government authorities in England and Wales showed almost half of them believed rat infestations had increased as a result.
