Eamon Coleman was last night named as the new manager of the Cavan senior football team.

The former Derry boss has agreed a three-year deal and succeeds Mattie Kerrigan who stepped down in July after two years in charge.

Coleman, who will also manage the under-21 team, has yet to appoint his backroom staff.

He is expected to formally take up the position after the county board meeting in November.
