A group of Co Down men who went across the Border for cheaper petrol and bought a lottery ticket have collected more than £1 million in the midweek jackpot.
The unnamed group - a foreman, three labourers and a floor-layer - started buying the Republic's Lotto tickets nearly a year ago when they began driving south to save money on fuel.
The five winners, all married and with 15 children and 10 grandchildren between them, will each get more than £205,000.
A Northern Ireland man, who is unemployed, also did well in the latest British lottery draw. Mr Darryl McConnell (23), of Dunmurry, Belfast, netted £1.3 million.
