Rome - Thousands of people flocked into Rome's Capitoline Square yesterday to collect a cash handout by maverick Italian politician Mr Marco Panella. People queued outside the city hall to receive 50,000 lire (£19) as Mozart's Requiem boomed from loudspeakers. The money came from state funds to Mr Panella's political movement under the terms of Italian rules on party financing.
