This two-tonne Norwegian Spruce, pictured in yesterday's Irish Times, was being flown from Glenmalure, Co Wicklow, to the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin when high winds and the weight of the tree threatened to drag the helicopter to the ground.
The crew was forced to drop down and disconnect the tree, which was donated by Hardwicke Ltd and British Land Ltd, the partner companies in the Custom House Docks Development Company. According to a spokesman for the donors, the crew retrieved the tree yesterday morning and it arrived safely at the IFSC.
