French President Jacques Chirac has saidhe is disappointed with a draft UN resolution onthe future of Iraq circulated by the United States.
"I won't hide from you that it was a bit of a disappointmentfor us...there is fairly little progress," Chirac told a newsconference at a European Union summit in Rome about the amendedUS draft, which U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and RussianPresident Vladimir Putin have also criticised.
Chirac said France was willing to continue Security Councildiscussions in close cooperation with Russia and Germany. Parishas said it will not veto the text but might abstain.
