WASHINGTON - The US and Chinese foreign ministers gave final approval yesterday to an agreement allowing US port calls in Hong Kong after the British colony reverts to Beijing's control on July 1st, the State Department spokesman said. But Mr Nicholas Burns announced no other concrete results from the meeting between the Secretary of State, Ms Madeleine Albright, and the Chinese Foreign Minister, Mr Qian Qichen.
