Sydney - Two teenagers armed with a syringe stabbed six young children during a schoolyard attack in a small New South Wales town yesterday, police and government officials said.

A police spokesman said two boys aged about 13 rode their bicycles to the schoolyard in coastal Kempsey, 350km northeast of Sydney, at the end of the school's lunch break and approached the children, aged seven and eight.
