SANTIAGO - Child labour is still used widely in Latin America despite the region's recent prosperity and has even risen in economic showcase Chile, a UN report said.

An average 17 per cent of Latin American children, aged between 13 and 17 years old worked in the early 1990s, said the report from the United Nations' Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLA).
