Child dies in Drogheda road accident

A two-and-a-half year old girl was killed this morning after being hit by a car in Drogheda, Co Louth.

A two-and-a-half year old girl was killed this morning after being hit by a car in Drogheda, Co Louth.

She was being in a buggy being pushed by her parents on Duke Street at around 11.15am when she was struck by a car which had, gardai said, mounted the pavement.

The girl's body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda where she was pronounced dead.
