Mexico City - Thousands of Mexicans are sure to cheer the Zapatista leader, Subcommander Marcos, as he leads two dozen rebels on a tour of 11 Mexican states this month.

The impending odyssey by guerrillas, who took up arms on New Year's Day, 1994, in Chiapas state over indigenous rights, is to culminate in Mexico City on March 11th. It comes as the President, Mr Vicente Fox, has granted the rebels a series of concessions aimed at reviving peace talks.
