Two men have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Dublin today.
The men, aged in their 30s, hailed a taxi at approximately 10am and forced the driver at gunpoint to bring them to the Park Shopping Centre on Prussia Street. They then locked him into the boot of the car.
The men waited for a cash-in-transit van to make a delivery to the post office on Queen Street.
The van arrived shortly after noon and the raiders threatened one of the delivery men with a gun before stealing a box containing cash.
The men escaped in the taxi which was later abandoned. They were arrested a short time later on Church Street and the cash was recovered.
Both men are being held at Bridewell Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
