THE case of Mr Quinn was delayed by over an hour while he was examined by a doctor.
In the Special Criminal Court, the accused man appeared unable to stand when the charges were read out. He was helped to his feet and then supported by gardai until the judge directed that he be allowed to sit.
Dressed in a jumper and jeans, he responded slowly when asked to identify himself and doubled over at times during the proceedings, apparently in pain.
After being remanded in custody, he was led out of the courtroom, walking very slowly and again helped by gardai As he left the court, he was given the thumbs up by his father, Mr Dick Quinn, and his aunt, Ms Catherine Quinn.
