Boulder Media co-produced The Amazing World of Gumball, a cartoon that features the exploits of a 12-year-old cat and his family.

It received the award in the International Kids Animation category at a ceremony in New York at the weekend.

The animation has won numerous honours since it first aired in May 2011, including two awards for animation and writing at the Baftas last year.

Boulder Media was one of two Irish studios nominated for awards in New York.

Brown Bag Films was short-listed for the Octonauts, which follows a group of animals that live under water and explore different areas through their aquatic vehicles.
