A car packed with explosives exploded in southeast Turkey overnight injuring 23 people.

A statement issued by the local governor's office blamed Kurdish militants for the attack.

Four soldiers, three police officers and 16 civilians were hurt in the blast which occurred at 11.30 pm in Hakkari province near the borders with Iraq and Iran, the statement said.
