There was a distinct Canadian flavour to yesterday's parade in Monaghan town, which was attended by the Canadian Ambassador, Mr Michael Phillips, and a contingent from Prince Edward Island with which Monaghanis twinned.

Fifteen bands and more than loo floats were included and the parade chairman, Mr Willie McKenna, said they were delighted by the huge cross community support.
