British Defence Secretary Mr Geoff Hoon told the House of Commons today the military campaign to disarm Iraq may not be over "in a very short time".
Mr Hoon said that once military action had begun and British forces were "substantially engaged", Mr Tony Blair would seek to make a broadcast to the British nation.
He said British forces were "already engaged in some military operations" although he could not give further details.
