A new campaign designed to help Irish managers determine how best to deploy eBusiness and IT within their organisations was unveiled this morning.
Entitled "Open Up", it is aimed specifically at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) ho wish to deploy, or redepoly, technological resourses that will make them ore competitive in the national and international market place.
Supported by the Information Society Fund, through the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment, the "Open Up"campaign is being organised by Enterprise Ireland and is being delivered through the Enterprise Ireland website.
Referring to the eBusiness Monitor Report published by Forfas, in conjunction with her Department last week, the Tánaiste, Ms Harney, noted that Ireland compares very favorably to other leading economies in terms of attracting ebusiness related investments such as Google and eBay and in the creation of eBusiness related enterprises at the launch of the campaign this mroning.
"The one area where our performance lags that of other countries is when it comes to the adoption of eBusiness by existing enterprises" she said. "Those who do not adapt to these new ways of doing business will lose out."
The Open Up website includes information and guidelines under a number of headings which allows users to focus on the areas of relevance to their company.
The campaign will also involve the distribution of booklets and CDs. The other development agencies will help spread this information to their clients/members.
