CA approves sale of CMP to Glanbia for €10.5m

The Competition Authority has approved the sale of Dairygold's liquid milk business in Cork to Glanbia for €10.5 million.

The Competition Authority has approved the sale of Dairygold's liquid milk business in Cork to Glanbia for €10.5 million.

Under the deal Dairygold's 130 milk suppliers will continue to deliver to the CMP co-op which will pass the 6.15 million gallon pool on to Glanbia.

The deal will result in the loss of up to 88 jobs at Dairygold's CMP plants in Cork and Mallow.

When Dairygold announced the deal in February it said 58 of the CMP staff would be transfer employment to Glanbia as part of the deal.
