London - Two shopkeepers in the "bushmeat" trade faced jail yesterday for smuggling endangered animals into Britain.
The enterprise involved protected monkeys and anteaters being offered as part of a menu of jungle dishes. Whole lions at £5,000 each, antelope, porcupines, goats, cane rats and large, live snails were also candidates for the dinner table.
One of the traders, Mr Mobolaji Osakuade (40) even boasted he could procure a human head, London's Southwark Crown Court was told.
