Birmingham manager Steve Bruce is set to sign a new contract which will keep him at St Andrews for the next five years.
Bruce had been offered the new deal at an end-of-season board meeting but has not yet signed the contract.
But after returning from a break in Dubai with his staff Bruce today declared his intentions to put pen to paper.
"We talked about a new contract during the meeting, which was pleasing," Bruce told the Birmingham Evening Mail.
"We agreed everything in principle and I can't see there being any problems.
It's just a question of tying up the loose ends which, hopefully, will be soon.
"I think people know how I feel about this club and the fact that I've been looking for some security for me and my staff.
"I've not wanted to go anywhere else and I'm pleased we've sorted something out."
