The brother of the 25-year-old Malawi woman found murdered in Piltown, Co Kilkenny, 12 days ago has appealed for help from the public in solving the mystery of her death.

Mr Leon Unyolo, speaking on behalf of his family, has asked anyone with information on his sister's disappearance from her home in Waterford on July 8th to contact gardaí, clergy or someone in the community at St Herblain Park, Waterford.

He and his father, Mr Leonard Unyolo, chief justice of Malawi, and sister, Lucy, will return to their home country today following Paiche Unyolo-Onyemaechi's burial in Waterford on Friday.

They attended a service, conducted by local parish priest Father Paschal Moore for the mother-of-two last night in Piltown, where her headless body was found on July 23rd.

Mr Leon Unyolo said the family was shocked at what happened. He praised the gardaí for their thorough investigation.

"We last spoke to Paiche in June and she was full of life and joyful. All of this is very upsetting for us and we are still struggling with it," he said.

Paiche's sons, Andrew (3) and Anthony (18 months), are to be brought back to Malawi to live with their grandfather, Chief Justice Unyolo.

Paiche's Nigerian-born husband, Mr Chika Onyemaechi (31), was absent for his wife's funeral and has not been seen since last Thursday. Gardaí want to speak to him.
