Alan Brogan has been named as the new Dublin Senior Football captain and will take over from Colin Moran for the 2008 campaign.

The 26-year-old wing forward and All-Star previously captained Dublin at Under-21 level, and led the county to their first All-Ireland U21 title in 2003.

Moran wore the captain's armband for the last two years of Dublin's three-in-a-row Leinster SFC titles. Dublin last lifted the Sam Maguire back in 1995.

There may also be another Brogan name to feature on the team sheet this year for Alan's younger brother Paul is tipped to join him and Bernard in the first team. The Brogan dynasty began with Bernard Senior who first wore the famous Dublin jersey.

The trio of sons are all included on the panel for this Saturday's O'Byrne Cup quarter-final against Westmeath at Parnell Park.
