GAA:Dublin's Bernard Brogan has beaten off competition from Down's Daniel Hughes and Cork's Michael Shields to pick up the GAA's 2010 Footballer of the Year award.
The forward was hot favourite for the honour after some spellbinding displays in the championship. Cork’s All-Ireland winning midfielder Aidan Walsh picked up the young player’s award.
The hurling equivalents were awarded the Tipperary pair Lar Corbett and Brendan Maher respectively.
Corbett scored a hat-trick of goals on the way to beating Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final, while Maher was majestic in midfield all year.
They are two of six Tipp players named in the All-Star team of the season, comprised of hurlers from just four counties.
Kilkenny, Waterford and Galway are also represented.
The deposed champions have five nominations after their final defeat, but there is no place for Henry Shefflin in the forwards.
Waterford are represented by full-back Noel Connors, half-back Michael Walsh and corner forward John Mullane.
Galway’s sole inclusion is Damien Hayes at centre forward.
