Rugby:The prospects of Riki Flutey replacing Jean de Villiers at Munster next season appear to be on the wane after Brive insisted they have received no offer from any club for the England centre.
Flutey’s name has been linked with the Irish province since it emerged de Villiers would return to South Africa in the summer. More recently, reports from England claimed the New Zealand native would return to Wasps after an unhappy spell in the French Top 14.
But Brive today refuted the story, indicating they would only be prepared to let the 30-year-old move if they received silly money.
“I have not received any offer for Riki,” Brive administrative director Simon Gillham told local newspaper La Montagne. “He is under contract until June 2011. If we are offered a €1 million to buy out his last year, we would think about it.”
Flutey himself recently claimed he intends seeing out his contract with Brive.
