France is still the most popular country with Britons who want to buy a second home, a study has revealed.
The Abbey National survey, using figures from tourist organisation Maison De La France, showed 500,000 people from Britain own a house or flat in France.
It also showed that in the past six months the main focus of British interest has switched from the more accessible northern regions of Normandy and Brittany to the sun-soaked Cote d'Azur.
