British stance on Europol attacked

Britain is hampering police forces in their efforts to halt drugs importation to Europe, a Fianna Fail MEP, Mr Niall Andrews, claimed yesterday. Mr Andrews criticised Britain for its "total opposition" to granting new powers to Europol which would allow it act as overall police agency for Europe. Britain is the only EU member state not to agree to the new powers.
